Participants in Park City’s collection of outdoor winter sports expect a lot from their equipment and apparel. They want their layers to be warm, but not bulky, highly functional while still being fashionable.
Park City’s newest outdoor retailer on Historic Main Street, Park City Sport, has made it their mission to deliver the goods today’s savvy skiers are looking for. They have the highest quality down, synthetics, and fabrics on the market that will excel in both function and fashion at affordable prices.
Located at 738 Main St., Park City Sport has chosen several manufacturers’ lines that put cutting-edge technology at the forefront of their research and development. “Mountain Hardwear has Dry Q Elite, the highest performing waterproof, breathable fabric on the market, period, given features like air permeability. They also have water repellent down, and the warmest synthetic fill ever made,” said Sarah Baldwin, one of the Owners. The down jackets are insanely light and can be used as an outer or inner layer. “Most people are amazed that something this slim-fitting and weightless still keeps them so warm. We also carry Solomon products, whose ergonomic engineering is amazing. Their outerwear is made to fit your body, not the other way around.”
Park City Sport also insists on stylish good looks from their lines. The colors this year are spectacular—rich purples with bold lime, comfy plaids with bright plum, blacks that won’t fade and blues that go with everything. “This is clothing that is designed to keep you warm and comfortable while making you look your best,” Sarah says. Everything you need from head to toe can be found, including accessories. “I adore beanies,” said Sarah. “If anyone loves hats and beanies, I hope they will come by and see our collection. I have great beanies and hats for the mountain and around town. They also make great gifts and mementos.”
Park City Sport also offers ski and snowboard rentals with a brand new fleet featuring Salomon. Rental boots are individually fitted in front of a toasty fireplace. Expert advice on gear and getting on the mountain will be coming from people who really know their stuff. The Manager of equipment rentals, JP Solberg, competed in the X-Games.
