There is something transformative and restorative about spending a summer in Park City. We bask in the warmth, the blue skies, the unending possibilities encompassed in hundreds of miles of mountain trails, the rhythm of outdoor concerts, the sips, the eats, the fairways, the festivals, the peace and the cacophony of joyful celebration. This is the good life and we are so grateful for it.

In this issue of Mountain Express Magazine, we introduce you to all manner of healthy (we’re talking mind and soul), high- altitude living. We invite you to peruse in-depth features on golf and biking as well as insider pieces on wine events, the local art scene and veterinarian advice for visiting pets. Check out our section on alternative and integrative medicine and be sure to read about Park City Medical Center’s upcoming expansion, LiVe Well Center and community garden.

We continue to serve up delicious culinary news—plus the latest in the hotel scene, such as the metamorphosis at the Sky Lodge under its new ownership. And look no further than these pages for ideas on short road trips to genuine entertainment: the Western Music & Cowboy Poetry Gathering this autumn in Heber City and Midway; the new Loveland Living Planet Aquarium; and a weekend getaway in West Wendover, Nevada.

And we would be remiss if we didn’t tip our hats to local organizations that have reached impressive milestones. Park City Medical Center turns five. The cowboy poets gather for their 20th year. Team USA’s athletes—many of whom live, train and compete in Park City—celebrate 17 medals and a strong Sochi showing. And we, here at the magazine, humbly revel in our third consecutive year of receiving the Best of State honor—an award that is certainly a reflection of our incredible community and you, our readers.

Here’s to your health.
