Locals know that the best place to cast a line is surrounded by the majestic mountains at the base of Snowpark.

Dave Allison, Vice President of High Country Fly fishers, partners with the Division of Natural Resources (DNR) to place 55-gallon tanks and trout eggs in local classrooms across the Wasatch Back.

Students monitor the water quality and watch the eggs hatch. When the eggs grow into ÿ ngerlings, students release the trout into the Deer Valley Pond.

“I’m just learning how to fish. Fishing in the Deer Valley pond with the trout I raised in my classroom is awesome,” notes Joe Simmons, senior at Park City High School.

So, if you are looking to drop a line, the Deer Valley Pond is truly locally run and operated; it is supported by a dynamic group of students and fish experts.
