Following the crowd is rarely the path that leads to discovering your dream. More often, actively seeking out the exceptional leads you to your favorite things and best memories. The Hiking Inn, located in Midway, Utah, is a perfect case in point. Nestled in the hills near magnificent Mt. Timpanogos and overlooking panoramic Heber Valley, The Hiking Inn offers serene, refined ambiance amid nature’s beauty at its grandest.

38Lynn David and Mary Wolfner, owners & operators of The Hiking Inn, opened the doors of their bed & breakfast and executive management retreat hideaway in the summer of 2015. “I grew up in the shadow of the Wasatch Mountains. When I left to pursue my career in banking and consulting, I made a goal of returning to live here someday,” said Lynn. “I spent my adult life traveling the world for both business and pleasure. After staying in hundreds of different accommodations, I had collected a long, detailed list of the atmospheres and amenities that separated the places to sleep from the places remembered for a lifetime.” Inspired by Lynn’s ambition and never one to back away from a challenging endeavor, Mary rolled up her sleeves and joined him in the project. In 2011, Lynn discovered a 9,000 square-foot home listed in a secluded neighborhood just 20 miles from Park City. Lynn knew he had found the perfect canvas on which to paint their dream.

39Today, The Hiking Inn’s five suites, each featuring a private bath, walk-in closets, television and WiFi, are a traveler’s heaven. With all the personal care and comfort of staying in a friend’s home, yet all the privacy and amenities of an exclusive boutique hotel, guests want for nothing. Healthy, epicurean breakfasts are served each morning, beginning a day of either recreating in the great Wasatch Back country, conferencing with business associates in comfortable meeting spaces, or snuggling up in your cozy room to relish some well-deserved solitude. Guests are welcome to make use of the second kitchen, four outdoor sitting areas with firepits, entertainment centers, spacious gym, and courtesy wine storage. The Hiking Inn has four indoor meeting areas; each can accommodate six-to-ten guests.

39bThe hamlet of Midway is perfectly situated to offer a full range of dining and recreation options that are sure to please the whole family. As experts in local activities, Lynn and Mary are eager to share their experiences and arrange adventures for their guests. Their commitment is to deliver on their guests’ dreams.
