Experience the Fun of Buying Fresh

Even if you’re not a successful gardener, rejoice in summer’s bounty at local farmers’ markets. Each has its own unique style. In addition to fresh fruit, produce and flowers, some offer arts and crafts, kids’ activities, live music, food trucks, beer gardens and bike valets. Engage with the farmers—they’re not only full of knowledge about the different varieties of vegetables and products they sell, they usually have great recipe ideas. Remember that these products are the result of many hours of labor, most likely by the person standing before you, so go often and get to know your local farmers.
