The Executive Chef of the renowned restaurant 350 Main

By Annette Velarde

Two decades ago, Chef Michael Le Clerc graduated from the famed Culinary Institute of America and let his talent and sense of adventure lead him around world. He prepared food in some of the globe’s finest restaurants in Thailand, France, Germany, Switzerland, Hawaii, and New York. He loved his work and he planned to keep on traveling when he made an auspicious stop in Park City in 2000. He’s been the Executive Chef of the renowned restaurant 350 Main ever since.

“I was captivated by a clientele that put as much importance on their health as they did the flavor and originality of their meals,” says Le Clerc. “My love of creating delicious dishes that are truly good for you has kept my heart and head dedicated to this restaurant ever since.” As evidence of Le Clerc’s enthusiasm, 350 Main offers three menus: the Signature menu offers dishes that have made 350 Main famous as a fine dining destination; the Menu de Sante highlights scrumptious items that are low in calories; the Gluten Free menu adjusts items from the other two so customers who want to avoid gluten give up nothing in flavor.

Starters on the “must try” list are Tower of Ahi & Hamachi and Chilled Melon Soup. Ahi and Hamachi really are “towered” and topped with tobiko caviar – any sashimi lover’s dream. On a hot summer’s evening, the melon soup is sweet and refreshing while adding less than a hundred calories to your meal. New dishes inspired by his recent six-week tour of Europe, such as Spinach Salad with Warm Brie and Framboise, and Garlic Roasted Potatoes with Serrano Ham and Manchego, let you taste coastal Europe here at 7,000 feet. Black Pepper Crusted Venison is drizzled with blackberry-shiitake jus that creates incredible spicy/sweet mouthfuls. Black Sesame Sea Scallops melt in your mouth with a wonderful nutty undertone that will leave you unable to believe the meal is only 425 calories. The entrée that patrons return time and time again for is Coffee-Rubbed Pork Tenderloin available on both the Signature and Gluten Free menus. Roasted medallions so moist and tender you won’t need your knife are served with black truffle mashed potatoes, sautéed mushrooms, and roasted carrots. Be sure to leave room for dessert. The Lemon-Mint Angle Food Cake is as delectable as it is fat-free and the Warm Chocolate Cake will make you wish you were alone so you didn’t have to share bites with everyone else at the table.

350 Main has an extensive award-winning wine list and sensational tapas menu. The relaxed but sophisticated ambiance is made all the more charming by the renovated century-old building. Stop in to meet Chef Michael Le Clerc and
savor the best meal on Main Street.
