The fire within

The fire within was re-ignited when Park City marked the ten-year anniversary of the 2002 Olympic games with exhibits, open houses, stories, and celebration. Official Olympic photographs and memorabilia were on display at the Kimball Art Center and the Utah Olympic Park in February.

Local radio station, KPCW featured “Olympic Tales from the Wasatch Back.” Everyone from medalists,
like Derek Parra, to residents, like former-mayor, Brad Olch, recounted their favorite Olympic memories.

Myles Rademan, one of those credited with bringing the Olympics to Utah, dug out his Olympic torch and outfit for the events. Rademan noted, “Finding the torch was no problem. It’s been hanging in my guest bedroom all these years. Mayor Williams was smart enough to buy an LED light, so it looked lit when I ran it down the street.”

Once again, Park City was immersed in the Olympic spirit and red, white and blue berets.
