In the summer months, The Greatest Snow on Earth® melts and drifts down the Provo River into the Jordanelle Reservoir. This beautiful mountain lake has an iconic view of the green trails of Deer Valley Resort. In 2008, Jordanelle Reservoir became the home of Park City Sailing Association. This alliance was started by a group of friends that began a sailboat racing program.

Over the past 11 years, PC Sailing has aspired to a bold vision of getting more people on the water to enjoy sailing. Buster Pike, the current president of Park City Sailing Association, stated, “When people sail together, they become more connected to each other and to the community as a whole. Whether it is Park City the town or the global sailing community through racing in regattas, sailing serves as a way to expand our horizons beyond just our hometown lake.”

To serve the bigger calling of getting people sailing and elevating community engagement, PC Sailing created a structured ladder program that helps sailors take their skills to the next level. If you are a beginner or advanced, a young person or an adult, Park City Sailing has a safe, fun program for you to enjoy in Utah’s great outdoors. PC Sailing offers unique programming to make it more accessible to more people.

Between 10-15% of the children that sail in the summer camps are provided scholarships. They also offer adaptive sailing for people with physical and intellectual disabilities and partner with the Salt Lake VA, helping veterans with addiction and psychological challenges. A new program introduced last summer, Women and Wind Wednesdays, is a relaxed lesson with one of the female instructors followed by a social hour on the waterfront. It doesn’t matter if you want to learn to sail or just enjoy a sunset cruise with a certified skipper, there is a membership for you.

Park City Sailing Association has a jam-packed calendar of events to keep locals and visitors busy all summer long.
