The Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) has announced two upcoming grant programs. 

2021 Impacted Small Business Catalyst Grant

The 2021 Impacted Small Business Catalyst Grant will aid Utah-based businesses that can demonstrate the effects of COVID-19 on their businesses. The $15 million 2021 Impacted Small Business Catalyst Grant assists small businesses that have experiences

• A high level of revenue decline in a consecutive four-month period in 2020 compared to the same period in 2019, or

• Began operations after January 1, 2020, and can demonstrate the effects of COVID-19 on the business, and

• Provide evidence of continuing solvency.

The first tranche of funds will be awarded to applicants that demonstrate a revenue loss of 90% or greater.
The application process will open on April 20, 2021, at 9 a.m. and close on April 27, 2021, at 5 p.m. (MDT). Grant recipients will be notified between May 24 and 28, 2021, and begin receiving checks within a few days of notification.

Event and Entertainment Services Grant

The Event and Entertainment Services Grant will assist organizations that host live events or provide live event or entertainment services that promote and support economic opportunity in Utah. It is anticipated that the $5 million Event and Entertainment Services.

Grant will open on May 18, 2021, at 9 a.m. and close on June 1, 2021, at 5 p.m. (MDT). Grant recipients will be notified between June 28 and July 1, 2021.
