124A savvy buyer with 20-plus years’ experience in the fashion industry, Kathy Burke has worked her magic with this winter’s glittering offerings at Park City’s Cole Sport.

Kathy has the vitality to undertake an extensive travel schedule, trade shows, meetings with designers, marketing and promotion, and special-event planning year- round. She buys all soft goods for the store including ski and ready-to-wear fashion, home décor, footwear and lifestyle apparel.

One part of her formula is emotional: “I love the brands selected for our various customer needs, and love what I do because of special professional and personal connections with many people in the industry. Everything I buy I believe are the best products out there.”

The popular store with its four Park City/Deer Valley locations has been stocking shelves with Kathy’s picks for decades. This season, KJUS is very on-trend, with coral and royal blue shades and citrus hues adorning its latest collection. The brand’s lines feature unsurpassed quality and superior technical design.

Other brands delighting winter shoppers include famous European stylists. Frauenschuh, based in Kitzbuhel, has “beautiful loden and stretch fabrics, a classic elegance. The brand is so understated, they have no exposed logos, and products are made in Europe.

“Italian designers have so much passion and attention to detail in their design elements. Each piece is a work of art.” The Postcard brand is known for its chic, timeless design with luxury trims of leather and fur.

Kathy’s friend Roman Stepek, from Switzerland’s Mountain Force, makes an amazing ski pant called ‘Sonic’, patterned after his family’s ties to detailed tailoring.

Austrian ski racer Toni Sailer inspired his elegant eponymous brand. Sleek designs with stretch, comfort, excellent insulation and amazing anatomical fit characterize this famous Munich fashion house.

Bogner is always at the top of Kathy’s buying list. Passion for sport and exquisite materials are hallmarks of this famous brand.

Cole Sport’s motto is “Expect the Unexpected;” stop-in to see how it’s done. Kathy might be out on the slopes, but the fruits of her labor are all around!
