TRANSFORMING OUR COMMUNITY
For the past ten years, Latinos in Action has provided students with ways to learn and excel, while sharing their bilingualism throughout the community. Latinos in Action (LIA) has become one of the most important, viable programs offered within the Park City School District. LIA exists to empower Latino youth to obtain higher education by providing them excellent educational, service, cultural and leadership opportunities.
Prior to LIA, many students felt part of a deficit mindset. “Latinos in Action provides access to a thriving and growing bilingual community in a global economy,” said Anna Williams. Latinos in Action has raised the bar for Latino kids in our community and they are exceeding expectations. LIA gets kids college and career ready. At Park City High School, the Latinos in Action program has a 100% graduation rate giving every student an opportunity to share linguistic and cultural capital to transform our community.
