MAIN STREET SPECIAL EVENT NOTICE – Tour of Utah – August 17-18, 2019

SUPPORT OUR COMMUNITY’S CRITICAL PRIORITY OF TRANSPORTATION. CARPOOL, TAKE THE BUS, BIKE, OR WALK, AND PLAN AHEAD TO HELP REDUCE CONGESTION!

The Tour of Utah, America’s toughest stage cycling race, returns to the Park City area August 17-18. Stage 5 of the race begins and ends at Canyons Village, but will affect travel along SR-224 and other parts of Summit County. Stage 6 will begin and end on Park City’s Main Street. Road closures and transportation impacts are outlined below:SLOW DOWN AND WATCH FOR PEDESTRIANS.

PARKING CLOSURES
China Bridge Parking Structure
Sunday, August 18: $20 per vehicle with no re-entry privileges. Vehicles will not be able to enter or exit China Bridge between 3:00-5:00 p.m. during the race finish.
Private Parking Lots: Available throughout Old Town, with varying regulations, pay structures, and costs.

PARKING PERMIT HOLDERS
Blue Square Parking Permit: Blue Square Permit holders for Main Street Businesses are encouraged to park in the North Marsac Lot (access via Marsac Avenue) and the Gateway Center upper lot (access via Heber Avenue).
Carpool Permit: Carpool Permit holders should park in North Marsac or China Bridge.

Sunday, August 18:
Upper Main Street, from Heber Avenue to Swede Alley, will be closed to traffic and parking from 3:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m.
Lower Main Street will be closed to parking intermittently throughout the day.
Swede Alley surface lots will be closed.
Sandridge Lots will be closed for event operations.

FREE PARKING
HOMESTAKE LOT: FREE PARKING. EMPLOYEE TRANSIT PROVIDED TO MAIN STREET FROM 8:00 A.M.-3:00 A.M.
Ecker Hill Park-and-Ride: free parking at 2465 Kilby Road with free transit.
Park City School District (Kearns Blvd.): free parking with free transit to/from Main Street.
Park City Mountain Base Area and Canyons Village Cabriolet: free parking with free transit to Old Town.
Deer Valley Resort: free parking with free transit to Old Town.

PAID PARKING
BIKE VALET AVAILABLE IN THE GALLERIA LOT ON SWEDE ALLEY (ACROSS FROM TRANSIT CENTER).

ROAD CLOSURES
Saturday, August 17:
SR-224, from Canyons Village to Kimball Junction, will be closed intermittently from 10:30 a.m.-7:00 p.m. to accommodate the Tour of Utah race. Please use Highway 40 as an alternate route to Park City.

Sunday, August 18:
Main Street, from Heber Avenue to Swede Alley, will be closed to traffic and parking beginning at 3:00 a.m.
Lower Main Street will experience intermittent closures throughout the day.

Deer Valley Drive, Bonanza Drive, and Kearns Blvd. will experience intermittent road closures. All vehicles and transiton race course will be interrupted.

Delays expected from the top of Guardsman Pass to Deer Valley Drive, at the intersection of Aerie Drive, between3:00-4:30 p.m. During road closures, vehicles will not be permitted. Please plan accordingly.
