Utah’s Smallest Resort – with Big Plans

“A cabin in the mountains.” Perhaps no other phase better evokes the quintessential American dream. A place where you can get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and truly reconnect with nature.

Located near Ogden, Utah—just an hour from Park City—Nordic Valley (formerly known as “Wolf Mountain”) is a world-class resort in the making, where you can still escape to a tranquil, unspoiled setting. A place where mountain streams babble in the distance and moose can be spotted meandering through the alpine meadows. A place where you can watch the sun play upon the dramatic peaks of the Wasatch Mountains from the deck of your cozy, secluded-by-aspens home. A place where European comforts meet authentic Western ambiance.

“At Nordic Valley, we make affluent affordable,” explains Roger Steed, the resort’s chief marketing officer. “From stunning mountain views to extraordinary dining, there is no compromise. Our first real estate option available is Pine Canyon Lodge, with 54 luxury condominiums scheduled for completion in the fall of 2015. Custom homes and cabins, a swanky slope-side hotel and other real estate opportunities will soon follow. We’ll offer sophisticated ski-in, ski-out properties with price tags that seem outdated by decades.“

According to Steed, the resort will more than double its terrain and boast over 2,000 vertical feet for the upcoming 2014/15 season. But perhaps even more impressive is what’s on the agenda for the next five years. The resort, recently under new ownership, has grand plans. Soon, visitors and homeowners will enjoy a host of new amenities, including:

• Fabulous dining
• Alpine coaster and slide
• Zip lines
• Swimming pools
• A new “Main Street” shopping area
• Enormous terrain expansion
• High-tech new lifts
• Shuttle service to nearby ski areas
• Summer fly-fishing tours
• Winter snow cat skiing

Despite its notable list of upgrades, Steed promises Nordic Valley will stay true to its Western, hard-scrabble roots.
“We’re located in the West, the native home of hope. We will always be the place you can get away from it all and be welcomed by friends at the same time. Nordic Valley is the place you can reconnect with nature, nurse your soul, and make lasting memories with your family. And just because you have escaped reality for a few days, it doesn’t mean you can’t go to sleep on a feather- down mattress and 1,000-count European cotton sheets!”
