Park City declared the number one ski resort in the United States!

This will come as no surprise to our locals and annual visitors but according to PlanetSKI and Koala, Park City is the number one ski resort in the United States!

Research by Koala examined the offerings of more than 450 ski resorts. They took into account factors such as annual snowfall, length of runs, the cost of an adult ski pass and review ratings to create a ranking of the best resorts in America. Additionally, they ranked each ski resort giving each a baseline score of 1 out of 10 for each factor. They then create an average final score across its criteria. Koala used Skiresort.info, Instagram Hashtags, On the Snow and Climate-Data.org to provide the facts and information for its research.

After completing their tally, the verdict was in, and Park City was declared the king of the resorts. The staff at PlanetSki was clearly taken by the charm of our lovely mountain town. Chad Wassmer, the director of sales and marketing for PlanetSKI proclaimed, “Park City is a genuine and authentic ex-mining town with a historic Main Street. It has no fewer than 47 historic buildings.”

Not only is Park City Mountain Resort the largest ski resort in North America, PlanetSki loved that our town is full of character and life and that there are so many activities to do here. Snowshoeing, snowmobiling, dog sledding, cross country skiing, ice fishing, Main Street shopping, a local whiskey distillery and wine cellar, plus the UOP and its adrenaline pumping Bobsled.

Additionally, we locals tend to take for granted the fact that so many ski resorts are within such a short distance of each other; Park City Mountain Resort, Deer Valley, Sundance, Alta, Snowbird, Brighton, and Solitude to name a few.
