As far back as the Greek era, the affluent have enjoyed the benefits of private club memberships. Like any organization that brings people with common interests together, these associations devote themselves to promoting a sense of community and providing entertainments and pleasures to their members. In and around Park City, outdoor activities such as skiing and golf are central to many of the private clubs. Some require the purchase of real estate while others do not. All of them offer exclusive benefits and luxurious experiences to their members.

Established in 1997, Park Meadows Country Club is the longest standing private club in Park City. It is the only in-town, 100% member owned club that requires no purchase of real estate prior to joining. Because it focuses on local, full-time residences, its ambiance is quite different from those organizations that are associated with resorts. Many members visit the fully equipped workout facilities daily. During the summer, their pool is fully staffed with lifeguards and pool-side servers so the whole family can enjoy the fun. Park Meadows Country Club’s Jack Nicklaus
signature course is an immaculately maintained links-style course that is challenging but not punishing for all ability levels. Tee times are readily available with four-hour rounds being the norm.

During the winter months, members can use the Full Swing golf simulator to help maintain their skills. When the snow flies, there are weekly group outings for skiers of all ability levels and the golf course is groomed with cross-country, snow shoe and skate skiing trails. Whether in the formal dining room or in the casual lounge and patio, members enjoy award-winning gourmet cuisine with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.

A private, recreational community, Promontory provides a wide array of membership privileges that cater to the entire family.

For the golfer, it offers two meticulously maintained signature golf courses by Jack Nicklaus and Pete Dye that have earned top accolades by the golf industry. Located just outside of greater Park City in a breathtaking valley, Victory Ranch is in the ongoing process of developing an entire collection of luxurious amenities for their members. The private Rees Jones-designed 18-hole golf course is complete and is one of the most celebrated in the state. Boasting views of the Jordanelle Reservoir and Uinta Mountains, a day spent on this course challenges players to decide which was better: the panoramas or the play. The Upper Provo River flows freely through the Ranch, and provides owners with world-class fly-fishing on a private four- mile stretch. Whether members are trying their hand at casting for the first time, or are master fishermen seeking easy access to the early morning solitude, this river will become a key part of their joy in living at VictoryRanch. Freestone Lodge is a gathering place at the center of Victory Ranch. Featuring a warm, casual environment to relax, members enjoy locally inspired fare at the restaurant and share stories of their day’s adventures over cocktails beside the lounge fireplace. Many new amenities at Victory Ranch are either under construction or in the final development phase.

The soon to be completed Outpost facility will be home to the outfitters staff and a meeting point for many arranged outdoor activities. A family pool, casual grill, and fitness center will also be located at the building. Cabin product is currently being developed in an initial phase around the golf course, offering stunning views of Deer Valley and the Jordanelle Reservoir. Select estate lots and ranchettes are also available for sale. The benefits provided Victory Ranch members keep growing as its supply of available real estate keeps shrinking.
The benefits of membership in any of these private clubs are many. However, the all-embracing value is the membership itself; people who share mutual experiences and preferences coming together to enjoy one another’s company.
