RAMP, the Park City-based ski manufacturer, is a company built around “the concept of doing the right thing,” notes President and “CESnow” Michael Kilchenstein. His vision, based on passion and a 32-year career in the industry working with giants such as Rossignol and Roxy Alpine, embodies technology, creativity, and an “eco-ness” that sets his business apart from the pack. The RAMP team designs and builds their products in their new Park City factory, deemed Santa’s Workshop due to the festive winter motif of the building. Tasks are carried out with a deep-seated sense of purpose guided by their commitment to environmental accountability and most importantly, fun!

In addition to their high-performing skis, RAMP is launching their new line of snowboards in 2013, and their board manufacturing will employ the same clean practices and green technology that has made their skis so popular with their athletes. The snowboards are also aesthetically beautiful and uniquely tailored by Creative Director Polly Hopkins. Another board in the RAMP portfolio is the iWATERMAN paddleboard, “a rough-and-ready surf/ paddle/rescue tool that is pliant enough to bounce off rocks, yet still deliver hard product performance and reliability.” These inflatable iSUP boards aren’t only for the summertime either. Winter paddlesurfing has become a popular sport and offers cold-weather opportunities to ride the water.

Pop into RAMP to take their products for a test-run (they offer free demos out of their warehouse)—or, if you’re not in the area, visit one of their live demonstrations on the road! Check their online calendar for details.
