The health benefits of tea have been widely recognized in other countries for centuries and are now being realized in the United States as well. Understanding the unique health benefits offered by the many different varieties of tea is important. This is especially true when it comes to blending teas.

The Wasatch Tea Company utilizes this knowledge to create blends that are not only delicious, but have added health benefits as well. These benefits are not limited to loose leaf traditional tea, they can also be found in our Tisanes which are herbal tea varieties.

As an American Tea Master (tea sommelier) and Master Tea Blender, I use this information to create the blends for Wasatch Tea Company. The variety of benefits can be seen simply looking at three of our Chai Tea blends. Pink Peppercorn Chai, our most popular blend, begins with a base of organic black tea which is combined with organic cinnamon, ginger, cardamon, cloves and pink peppercorns. This tea is not only a sensory treat, it is also packed with healthy antioxidants. Pink Peppercorn Chai also provides you with increased energy, mental alertness, improved circulation and can help to open a stuffy nose. Our Green Coconut Chai is a blend of organic green tea, cinnamon, licorice root, ginger, cardamon and unsweetened coconut flakes. In this Chai you will note a natural sweetness that balances nicely with the spices. This Chai aids in weight loss and has anti-inflammatory properties. It is also a wonderful choice for a cold involving a sore throat. The High Desert Chai is a Tisane blended with a base of organic Honeybush, cardamon, cloves, cinnamon and ginger. Since this Chai is a Tisane, it is naturally caffeine free! Aside from being caffeine free, this Tisane can help improve circulation, aids with insomnia as well as indigestion. Each of our three custom Chai blends have unique benefits based on their composition.

This is only a small sampling of our many custom blends. We are happy to discuss the unique benefits of each of our teas and welcome you to stop by the store. Incorporating tea into your healthy lifestyle is easier and tastier than you might think!
