Our mountains are an incredible playground for skiing or snowshoeing in the winter, and hiking or mountain biking in the summer. Park City is a great place to recreate outdoors, but it is also home to many and has a year-round economy. Nonprofits are the magic that connects our community and makes it an even better place to live, work and play.

You might have woke up this morning and took a bike ride down a spectacular path that includes 400 miles of continuous, non-motorized recreational trails maintained by the hard work of Mountain Trails Foundation. Or perhaps you were able to revel in the beauty of our protected open space thanks to the tireless efforts of Summit Land Conservancy and Utah Open Lands. Or maybe it is the preservation of the silver mines that caught your eye thanks to Friends of Ski Mountain Mining History. When the evening rolls around, you probably attended one of the free Deer Valley concerts thanks to Mountain Town Music or took in a show at our historic Egyptian Theatre. From sunup to sundown, these nonprofits have made your day in Park City even more marvelous.

Park City has over 100 nonprofits that serve our community. However, like all communities, Park City has its challenges. In addition to these nonprofits that elevate our lifestyle, we have many nonprofits that serve our less fortunate population. You may know a woman who is being supported by the Peace House because domestic violence knows no boundaries. However, you might not be aware of the People’s Health Clinic which keeps our seasonal workers healthy; the Christian Center which houses our local food pantry or Holy Cross Ministries, which provides school readiness programs for our at-risk children. These organizations have also played a critical role in improving access to mental health services in Summit County through collaboration efforts.

It doesn’t matter if you spend six weeks a year in Park City or have spent the last 60 years, we welcome you as part of our community. Connecting with a nonprofit and a cause that you care about makes this small town a home. We know that you love Park City and there is an organization for your passion.
