It only takes a slight winter chill to fixate on all things resort-like; that includes a particularly sticky, gooey, chocolate mess of sweetness. Winter s’mores are as common as skiing and hot chocolate, soup and scarves. Those sandwiched squares of graham cracker, chocolate and toasted marshmallows aren’t just a lure for the kiddos, but adults, who go on the hunt for roaring fi re pits and skewers once the lifts close. Luckily, Park City answers the call with local hotels offering après s’mores and places like Montage Deer Valley selling DIY kits for the condo.

Montage Deer Valley
When the Montage Deer Valley team was looking to build family traditions they looked to the ultimate winter treat. Free daily s’mores around a massive fire pit feature gourmet-flavored marshmallows like mocha, peppermint and cinnamon, graham crackers, dark and milk chocolate bars, hot cocoa and cider for all ages from 4:30 to 5:30 pm. If you prefer your privacy they offer two- and four-person roasting kits starting at $110.

St. Regis Deer Valley
On the Astor Terrace, St. Regis Deer Valley’s eager hosts hand you the tools for your complimentary s’mores from 7 to 9 pm. Some may argue that they come for the s’mores but stay for the free hot chocolate bar located near the library. Top off the thick, rich cocoa
with treats like chocolate chips, sprinkles and whipped cream.

Waldorf Astoria
You’ll need to be dining or drinking in Powder to do free s’mores Waldorf style. Guests can roast those free, classic mallows in the fi replace near the outdoor pool nightly from 7:30 to 9 pm.

Park City Marriott
Grab one of the hotel blankets as you move to the large patio outside the Timbers Lounge from 4:30 to 5:30 pm nightly. Get cozy by the fi re and toast up your confection while you discuss your most epic run. Th e chef may even pass around some chocolate-dipped marshmallows rolled in graham crumbs.

Park City Mountain
The s’mores at Park City Mountain only come out on the weekends at 3 pm Saturday, you’ll find them at the Umbrella Bar patio at Canyons and on Sundays they move to Park City base where the exact location varies each week. Supplies are limited and they go fast so if you can’t forego “one more run” just plan to grab your s’more from one of the other cool spots around town.
