New Owners are thrilled to be part of such a historic business.
Earlier this year, the original owners and head chef retired after nearly 30 years. Fortunately, their successors were eager to honor their legacy by continuing to deliver delicious Thai food and a wonderful experience to locals and visitors alike.
New owners, Jason and Stephanie Padilla and Roberta and David Walski are proud to make BANGKOK THAI ON MAIN a family and locally owned restaurant and are thrilled to be a part of such a historic business on Main Street.
In 2003, Jason Padilla had the opportunity to travel to Thailand during his military service, and it was there that he fell in love with the Thai people, their culture and, especially, the amazing food. Jason said that his memories of the “colorfulness, vibrancy and incredible flavors of the food in Thailand” makes owning this restaurant that much more rewarding. Additionally, Roberta Walski added that their family goal is “to bring truly authentic Thai cuisine to our guests while also encompassing the extremely friendly and welcoming culture of the Thai people.”
In the beginning of summer, the new owners took on the task of updating the décor of the restaurant and bar and began a nationwide search for a head chef that could authentically invigorate the restaurant’s menu. The owners selected Bangkok, Thailand native and award-winning Chef Wichayanee Chayangkura, who otherwise goes by “Chef Yanee.” As the head Thai chef in numerous 5-star resorts around the world and, previously, the private chef for Thai Royalty, Chef Yanee brings an authentic and unique artistry to this classy, upscale restaurant located in the heart of Park City.
BANGKOK THAI ON MAIN is excited for their new, updated menu that will continue to feature such favorites as their multitude of savory curries, Pad Thai and flavorful wok dishes, but will also host an abundance of new items, including Chef Yanee’s signature Northern Thai Curry Noodle Soup with Braised Chicken, Pineapple Fried Rice and Braised Beef Green Curry with Coconut Meat. They are also proud to announce that the restaurant recently continued its yearly tradition of earning the BEST OF AWARD OF EXCELLENCE for its outstanding wine program in Wine Spectator’s 2019 Restaurant Awards.
Overall, the new owners and their team are looking forward to authentically elevating the cuisine and experience for all of their guests. “We are interested in providing exemplary service and award-winning cuisine for our customers in Park City,” explained Stephanie Padilla. “If we can consistently partner excellent service with excellent food, then we feel we will have mastered our vision for BANGKOK THAI ON MAIN.”
