Hogle Zoo Celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the Driving of the Golden Spike

(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah’s Hogle Zoo is joining the festivities of one of the landmark events in America’s history – the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad! The driving of the Golden Spike made coast-to-coast travel by train possible.

Utah’s Hogle Zoo – Tuesday, May 7, 9 – 11am

Snap a photo in front of the Zoo’s two beautiful C.P. Huntington locomotives situated nose-to-nose, replicating the iconic photo of 1869.

Plus, get a sneak peek at another icon of the American West, three bison which just arrived at the Zoo for the summer. Bison played a pivotal role in the story of the railroad and migration.

The event is open to the public and is included with Zoo admission or valid Zoo membership. Train crafts on hand for the kids.
