VIKING YURT – ADVENTURE DINING

For over 20 years, Joy Vik, and her husband Geir, have entertained guests with an experience filled with adventure, culture, delicious food and tasty beverages in a unique setting.

The Viking Yurt is open 7 days a week for the winter season from December through March. Reservations are required, and not surprisingly, the tables fill up quickly. The Viking Yurt follows the recommended Covid safety precautions and all surfaces including chairs, doorknobs and outhouses are disinfected daily with a hospital grade fumigator disinfectant. The staff is required to wear hospital grade masks and gloves at all times.

You start your winter adventure with a spectacular 23-minute snowcat-pulled sleigh ride up 1,800 feet on the ski runs. Take in the magical night sky, giant trees and the best views of Park City and surrounding mountains.

Once inside the yurt, you will be greeted with elegant live music on a baby grand piano and a pewter mug filled with hot glogg to warm your hands  and body after the sleigh ride. Then, you enjoy a six-course gourmet dinner, lovingly prepared by the professional staff. (The imaginative chef has driven up the evenings necessities by snowmobile and each course is presented with an imaginative and entertaining twist. For example, the palate cleansing sorbet is served in rocks from Norway.)

Once the meal is complete, you head back down the mountain nestled under heavy blankets,

The hospitality, setting and faire of the Viking Yurt is an adventure that should not be missed.

Local’s Tip: Due to Covid safety precautions, strangers do not share a table. Therefore, winter bookings are made by the table, not by the number of seats needed. If the date you want is sold out, we recommend putting yourself on the waitlist, and if a table opens up, you will receive an email notifying you of the opening.
