Is the great outdoors calling your name?

All-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and their side by side cousin, the Razor, will take you into Utah’s backcountry, and put you in touch with your inner “mountain man.”

With easy access to two mountain ranges (Wasatch and the Uintas) and hundreds of miles of ATV trails, you’re just minutes away from forested tracks, winding embankments and incredible scenery.

There are several options for renting an ATV, depending upon your group’s size, experience level, time restraints and budget. Local companies can assist you with the best selection. You will also want to decide between a guided or self-guided tour. Unless you’re a hardcore experienced rider, you may more fully enjoy the professional guided ATV tour. With a local expert directing you through the backcountry you can soak in the scenery and have access to remote private locations. However, self-guided tours allow you more control of your time and the ability to test your limits. Most ATV companies can set you up with a trailer and some off er pickup and delivery with an agreed upon starting and ending location.

All good mountain men are prepared for their environment so make sure you dress properly, with long pants and sleeves, goggles and gloves. Always, always wear your helmet! Additionally, pack a few essentials like water and sunscreen. You should also ask the ATV company if they recommend you bring anything else.

Once you have selected your ATV package, head to the backcountry and enjoy the endless trails, majestic wildlife and breathtaking views of Mount Timpanogos, the Cottonwood Canyons and Park City. I promise that by the end of your adventure you will have answered nature’s call with a joyful holler back!
