Boating and Sailing

Wynn Passey and his staff at Jordanelle Rentals & Marina have a penchant for all types of watercraft from paddleboards and kayaks to wave-runners, and boats from wakeboard/ski, and fishing, to the big, family- friendly pontoons. If it floats, they can write a “how to” book about it.

Exit 8 off Highway 40 between Park City and Heber leads to the Jordanelle State Park and Marina where you can launch your own boat or rent any of the formerly-mentioned watercraft. Wynn and his staff also operate a General Store, Pro Shop, and Snack Bar.

Jordanelle Rentals offers moorings and indoor boat storage, as well as launch services. Call from the SLC Airport; they can launch your boat from storage or have one of their rentals ready when you arrive. Hire a boat captain for a worry-free day on the water.

Wynn says the Jordanelle is one of the best Smallmouth Bass fisheries in the state. Angling here is also good for Rainbow and Brown Trout and Perch. Jordanelle Rentals has the gear and can provide a guide.

Paddleboard and wakeboard lessons are offered at the Marina Pro Shop, and parasailing may be on the menu as well. Park City has a booming Junior Sailing Program on the reservoir run by Buster Pike, 435-659-1360, sailparkcity.org.

Campsites, beaches, a playground, and family events are going strong all summer. Contact the Jordanelle State Park, 435-649-9540, or the staff at Jordanelle Rentals, 435-615-7397, jordanellerentals.com to plan your summer lakeside vacation.
