Labor Day Weekend in Park City
Locals’ delight!! Labor Day Weekend in Park City has arrived! With countless events, games and festivals happening, there is plenty of fun to choose from.
Starting tomorrow, Friday September 3rd and running through Saturday September 4th, drive over to Midway for the annual Swiss Days! The citizens of Midway volunteer their time baking goods, preparing food and displaying their crafts and hobbies. Swiss Days includes a 10k race, a huge outdoor craft fair and live entertainment. Located at the Midway Town Hall, the festivities start at 8:00 AM each day and run until midnight. Enjoy Swiss German Food and enjoy musical presentations. An annual favorite is the Swiss Children’s Chorus that will perform Friday September 3rd at 10:30 AM and Saturday September 4th at 11:40 AM. The Swiss Days Parade starts at 10 AM on Saturday September 4th. Parking is $5 and there is shuttle service from the parking lots.
Back for Labor Day Weekend in Park City visit the Soldier Hollow Classic Sheepdog Championship. The event lasts four days from September 3rd through September 6th. Take the entire family to enjoy this fun and exciting competition at Soldier Hollow Nordic Center featuring the world’s top sheepdogs and handlers. Discover the unique sounds and sights of the expert trainers and their skilled canines. Food and beverage vendors are on site, along with an on-site beer garden.
Labor Day Weekend in Park City wouldn’t be complete without the annual
Miner’s Day Celebration. On Monday September 5th start the day at 7:30 AM with the pancake breakfast at City Park. Then head up to Main Street to buy your balls and participate in the “Running of Balls” down Main. The Labor Day Parade starts at 11:00 AM and is a true hometown event. After the parade ends, head back to City Park for food, live-music and hometown games. At 12:30 the Mining Demonstrations begin across from the City Library and run until 3:30. Watch Miner’s from all over the country display their mucking and digging skills.
