Thomas Anthony Gallery welcomes a new artist!
For over 20 years, Thomas Anthony Gallery has featured award winning paintings and sculptures from both nationally and internationally acclaimed artists. They also highlight regional and up and coming talents. With such a diverse collection, casual art lovers as well as serious buyers delight in experiencing all the gallery has to offer.
Additionally, owners Tom and Carolyn provide a hands-on boutique approach to gallery ownership. They are personally involved in every aspect of their gallery and the art they present.
“We take great pride in offering old world service to our collectors while utilizing new world technology to facilitate their passion for collecting fine art.”
Following this tradition of promoting international talents, Tom and Carolyn would like to announce the arrival of Laara Cassells to the Thomas Anthony Family.
Laara Cassells is a contemporary Canadian painter best known for her representational paintings and portraits. Says Cassells, “ I have a passion for painting portraits whether of a human or an animal. I often work in series where I can develop a theme over time and I enjoy telling stories with my paintings.” According to Tom, “Laara has an acute sense of detail when painting her beautiful renditions of wildlife in acrylic.”
In her former life, Cassells was a theatre designer and she created sets and costumes for ballet, opera and film. She transcended her talents to painting and now has over 85 exhibitions worldwide. Some of her recent awards include: 2018 Best Overall Acrylic, “7th Annual PleinAir Salon Dec/Jan Exhibition”, PleinAir Magazine.
2018 First Place Award, “Retro” Online Juried Exhibition, Federation of Canadian Artists, Vancouver, B.C.
2018 Honourable Mention, “Women Artists”, International Quarterly Group Online Art Exhibition, Fusion Art.
2017 People’s Choice Award, “Miracle of the Portrait” Competition, Portrait Society of Canada
