Once the leaves start falling and a brisk chill fills the air, you can feel the excitement grow around our mountain town. Winter is here! Tune the skis, pull out the sweaters and jackets, and measure the little ones for new boots.

For the staff at Mountain Express Magazine, winter also brings the satisfaction of providing our readers with the latest happenings and announcements in and around Park City and the Wasatch Back.

This year, the fresh snow provided fresh experiences for our writers. Share in the elation of heli-skiing the Wasatch Mountains and fly fishing the Provo River. Bond with the dog sledding teams at Luna Lobos or snuggle into a horse drawn sleigh as you glide up Park City Mountain.

Visitors from all over the world continue to discover why locals refer to our tight knit community as paradise. From award-winning restaurants, to five-star resorts, to a flourishing art scene, Park City offers something for everyone. And the word seems to have gotten out, as our little utopia has been getting a lot of recognition; from being ranked among the top 100 healthiest communities to being acknowledged as one of Utah’s best school districts.

With all this attention, the real estate and designer markets have flourished, and local homeowners have benefited as well. Learn about building science practices that apply physics and other disciplines to home construction or consider the health advantage of oxygenating your indoor space.

Additionally, the season has brought the opening of unique businesses and the enjoyment of new experiences. This includes a New York inspired eatery in Kimball Junction and a woman-owned beauty room in Midway. It also has demonstrated the giving and generous nature of our neighbors and friends, as local nonprofits have reported record numbers in donations and volunteers.

As always, we are grateful and honored to be the premier guide to Park City dining, shopping and living and look forward to another year of supporting our little summit town.

Warmest wishes,
