OP ROCKWELL
Perhaps best known for having bartenders who perform as much as its bands do (think Tom Cruise in “Cocktail”), OP Rockwell has become Park City’s newest “it” spot for live music, seemingly overnight.

“We opened right before Sundance this year, and were able to book some incredible acts our first week of being in business. We haven’t slowed down since,” says Scott Thompson, one of the bar’s managing partners. “This year we’ve had Colin Hay from Men at Work, Karl Denson, Reckless Kelly, and Gregory Alan Isakov take the stage, along with phenomenal bands.” OPRockwell.com

THE SPUR BAR AND GRILL
Just a boot-scootin’ boogie down the hill at 352 Main Street, you’ll find The Spur. This western- themed saloon has live music nightly. Local, regional, and national music acts take the stage all winter long, with genres ranging from rock to Celtic and everything in between.

Between sets, line up your friends for the bar’s famous “shot ski” (it’s exactly what it sounds like), warm up by the fireplace, or simply take in the scene and people-watch. You never know who you’ll see- Bill Gates has been known to tap his well-heeled toes at The Spur. Cover charges vary nightly. thespurbarandgrill.com
ECCLES CENTER
Home to the Park City Institute (PCI) in the winter months, the George S. & Dolores Dore Eccles Center for the Performing Arts has welcomed entertainers from all over the world.

“Performers from Bernadette Peters to Alvin Ailey- all genres, really- have entertained our audiences here,” said Terri Orr, PCI’s executive director. “Our amazing sound system and terrific deep stage allow us to really showcase these incredible events.”

When the ski boots come off, put on your dancing shoes! Whether you’re in the mood for an intimate acoustic set or want to jam with some of the biggest names in the industry, there’s no shortage of live music venues that will make you want to kick up your heels and sing along with the band.

If you’re looking for a place to get your groove on, here are some local spots that really know how to rock.

And while the 2016 schedule was still being finalized at press time, Orr promises it won’t disappoint. “This will be our most spectacular season yet!”
