While multiple feet of powder may not be a welcome sight in some places, it’s a sign of good fortune and the availability of amazing snow-filled adventures in magical mountain towns like Park City. We did our best snow dances while preparing this latest issue of Mountain, so channel your inner moxie to give snowkiting and ice climbing a try or go a bit easier with a unique array of suggested snowshoe tours. Also, skiing legend and Park City native Ted Ligety shares his family’s local favorites and talks about his company Shred Optics.
New to our pages is a major feature article easily found in the center of the magazine , and there is no one better than Tan France — designer extraordinaire and one of the stars on the popular Netflix series Queer Eye — to kick it off. He has called Utah home since 2018 and has found the Beehive State to be a welcoming place for his growing family. We’re also introducing “In the Know,” featuring quick updates about local happenings. Feel free to send us your business’s or organization’s latest Wasatch Valley news to share.
Also on the new front, Beth Buehler and Kimberly Mantz have joined our team as managing editor and sales director, respectively. Both bring extensive media experience to Mountain and are lifelong mountain enthusiasts who raised families surrounded by peaks, enjoy the outdoors and have a passion for exploring the cultural and culinary scenes where they live and travel.
We are also thrilled to announce a partnership with Park City Institute to help promote the popular Winter Series at the Eccles Center, with programming ranging from Fran Lebowitz to Legally Blonde the Musical. We’ll also be part of the Big Stars, Bright Nights outdoor performance series in the summer, another beautiful season for spending memorable time in Park City and the Heber Valley.
