FLIGHT is the Leonardo’s first original exhibit. Created as an immersive experience into the world of flight, the hands-on exhibit is a Utah original. Built from the ground up, FLIGHT is something brand new and like nothing you have seen before.

Begin your FLIGHT experience as you walk through the Tunnel of Dreams where you can share in the imagination of those who made aviation what it is today. You are further transported through time into a replica American living room to share the wonder of the first moon landing. After watching the first moon landing again or for the first time, you exit into the world of FLIGHT.

Built in the 1950’s primarily as a military plane, the C-131 at the center of the exhibit has a varied and colorful history. Visitors can step aboard the fully restored aircraft to be transported through the science, engineering, and art of flying. Exiting the C-131 gives promising pilots an opportunity to experience the realty of flight in a hyper- realistic flight simulator. Built by Rockwell Collins specifically for this exhibit, these are the same flight simulators used for training by real pilots!

Activities abound throughout the exhibit where you can experiment with the thrust of jest engines, explore the beginnings of manned flight, learn more about different types of flight, and discover the future of space flight and exploration. The FLIGHT exhibit promises to be one of exploration and adventure as it develops and expands your understanding of how the flying world works.

While visiting The Leonardo don’t miss the other hands-on installations including the Workshop, the Studio, the Science Lab, and the Pixel Playground. Entrance to the FLIGHT exhibit is free with your admission ticket. For more information on The Leonardo including special exhibits and events visit theleonardo.org
