On arrival, eager Park City visitors disperse among the many opulent hotels and lodges in the area. Many of these premier resorts offer personalized luxury services to their guests. We visited these local gems and learned some of their secrets.

The Lodge at Blue Sky is nestled in a pristine mountain setting just a few miles from downtown Park City. Nature lovers are especially drawn to the resort. Jessica Cook, director of sales and marketing, says Blue Sky is perfect for snowshoers and Nordic skiers. “We have a multitude of trails on the property that really cater to all levels of ability. As an enhancement on any snowshoe tour, we have partnered with a local wildlife biologist who does fantastic tours to indentify different animal prints in the snow. We have elk, deer, mountain lions, bobcats and a host of different birds. We even have a resident wintering elk herd,” Cook says.

The Lodge at Blue Sky prides itself in its amazing program providing sanctuary for dozens of rescue horses. Their rescue horse-drawn wagon and sleigh rides to see the elk herd are extremely popular with guests.

They also partner with Powderbird Heli-Ski. Helicopters leave and return right from the resort, taking skiers of all skill levels to pristine backcountry areas in the nearby Uinta and Wasatch mountain ranges.

The elegant St. Regis Deer Valley, only a mile from downtown Park City, appeals to visitors who enjoy the shops, restaurants and entertainment venues in lower Deer Valley and on historic Main Street. Stephanie Monasterio, marketing coordinator for the St. Regis, says their complimentary shuttle service delivers guests to Deer Valley Resort or downtown in five minutes. “We also have a beautiful spa called the Tranquility Room, which is my favorite location, perfect for the ultimate in relaxation.” An elegant outdoor waterfall adds to the “tranquility.” Monasterio says another favorite among visitors is their ski-in, ski-out Yurt Village.

Perched high above historic Main Street Park City, the magnificent Montage Hotel offers the ultimate in hospitality and luxury services.

The Montage is adjacent to almost a million acres of spectacular public and private lands reaching high into the Wasatch backcountry. The area offers almost unlimited opportunities for adventurous outdoor enthusiasts.

Montage’s all-day snowmobile tours treat guests to miles of pristine trails aboard the best snowmobiles Polaris has to offer. Choose a master naturalist snowshoeing tour for an unforgettable guided trip through upper Deer Valley’s majestic high country. Guests learn all about the incredible evergreens and winter wildlife that call this area home.

Another amazing outdoor adventure available to guests is winter fly-fishing trips to any of three blue ribbon trout streams and unparalleled “beyond borders” heli-skiing.

The Hotel Park City is a perennial favorite among visitors. “Almost 90 percent of our guests are return visitors,” says Bill Ekblad, director of sales and marketing. The White Pine Touring Center, Mecca for skate and classic Nordic skiers, is virtually just outside their door.

Park City’s ever-popular Ruth’s Chris Steak House is located inside the hotel and provides guests an unparalleled dining experience. Restaurant guests who choose to dine outside on the enclosed, heated deck enjoy outstanding cuisine amid stunning views. Every room in the hotel faces the mountains, overlooking the swimming pool and golf course. The hotel also offers complimentary shuttle services to the ski resorts by day and historic Main Street by night.

We’ve highlighted just four of the many outstanding lodges and hotels in the Park City area. One thing is certain no matter where you choose to stay, you’re guaranteed a “life-elevating,” unforgettable experience.
