Winters are a great time to visit Utah’s Hogle Zoo as the crowds are smaller and the animals tend to be more active. For an extra adventure, make sure you check out the Zoo’s shyest resident, Nikolai, the handsome Amur Tiger. Big Cats are magnificent in the cooler temps. They grow two extra inches of fur in the winter. In the wild, the Asian Highland’s species are from Siberia, so they love it cold! The Zoo Keepers are excited to present Nikolai to the public and to help this gentle creature feel welcome to Utah.

You can also use the Zoo’s event calendar to learn about upcoming events and activities. Plan your visit down the mountain around some of the fun and exciting features. hoglezoo.org/events_experiences/events_calendar/

Additionally, Utah’s Hogle Zoo is one of only 225 establishments accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA). Look for the AZA logo whenever you visit a zoo or aquarium as your assurance that you are supporting a facility dedicated to providing excellent care for animals, a great experience for you, and a better future for all living things. AZA is a leader in global wildlife conservation, and your link to helping animals in their native habitats. For more information visit aza.org.
